ZAP Fitness Foundation (ZAP), founded in 2001, is a non-profit training center for post-collegiate, Olympic hopeful distance runners. Its founders Andy Palmer and his wife Zika came up with the idea as a way to give back to the sport of distance running, a sport that played a significant role in both their lives. The vision, now its 16th year, combined Adult Running Vacations that bring runners together at ZAP's 24-bed lodge for long weekends or full weeks during the summer months to run together and learn from the professional coaching staff. The lodge also operates as a retreat center for groups interested in renting the facility for their own retreats. The revenue brought in through the facility goes to support ZAP's other primary mission of supporting 10-12 Olympic hopeful long distance runners. The support from ZAP allows the athletes to train full time and pursue their Olympic dreams. In exchange for the support, the athletes work at the facility, helping with the Adult Running Vacations and retreats.  Zap Fitness is sponsored by Reebok.
