Distance Running Groups
There are several groups that meet and train for races from the Half Marathon to the Marathon. If you would like to add a group to this list email firstname.lastname@example.org. Contact any of these groups by email to find their current schedules.
Winthrop Park Express is a group of friends who simply love to run year round. Rain, shine, cold or hot - they are out there running almost every Monday night. They represent all age groups, experience levels and paces and only ask that you can run more than a 5k before you come out. We meet at 6:00 p.m. Please arrive early for a brief orientation. Five minute rule applies. We depart NLT 6:05pm. Most of us will only do 3 or 4 miles, but there are always the adventurous who will do more. We will make sure you have a "buddy."
The Imitation Adults team also hosts long runs on weekends in preparation for upcoming marathons. Check out their facebook page or email Nancy Stedman for more information, the more the merrier as far as she is concerned. email@example.com.
Sunday Mornings at Forest Meadows - Most Sunday mornings a large group meets at Forest Meadows to run the trails of Lake Overstreet and Eleanor-Phipps Park. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Sunday Streakers meet every Sunday morning at 7am. We have various 10 mile courses around Tallahassee from Killearn Lakes to the St. Mark’s Trail. One volunteer each week picks a course (or makes one up) and puts out water and Gatorade, usually two water stops. The group varies in size from two or three to nine or 10. We generally run about a 9 minute pace but depending upon the size of the group will break out into different sub groups as we go. These may vary from 8:45 to closer to a 10 minute pace. We always promise not to lose you the first time you join us! We also often have folks training for some upcoming marathon who are looking for someone to tack on some extra miles, before and/or after the core 10 mile run. Contact Jack McDermott or Sue Kelly.
