How do you know that you are at a formal GWTC function? You see runners wearing their Boston Marathon jackets!
If you were able to attend this year’s GWTC Award Ceremony at Goodwood on January 10th, you were treated to another special night. It was great seeing friends, old and new, and celebrating a fantastic year. For some award recipients, it was fantastic years. If you were unable to attend I recommend that you do two things – make sure to attend next year and go the GWTC website and read the presentations that were given this year (http://tinyurl.com/pmr6hbu). You may want to have a box of tissues handy. The Grand Prix Committee did a wonderful job with some great direction from our committee chair Amanda Hudson.
Now it’s February and that means two things: Marathon and Flash. Nancy Stedman and Jay Silvanima will be directing their final Tallahassee Marathon on February 8. When you get a chance give them a big thank you. They have poured their heart and souls into the race and they have done a fantastic job. If you didn’t run the marathon, or if you recover fastest than any human should, get yourselves down to St Marks to run the Flash 12k/6k on February 21. Mark Priddy is sure to put on another quality race. Finally, whether you have raced or not make sure to check out the Springtime Training Group on Monday nights at 5:45 PM at the Myers Park picnic pavilion (more info is on the website)
