2006 GWTC Annual Awards

GWTC brought the New Year in with a grand 30K and closed out 2006 with the Annual Awards Ceremony Saturday, Jan. 13, at the American Legion Hall. A good sized crowd watched master of ceremonies Bill McGuire guide the night as the 2006 Annual Award winners and Grand Prix winners were announced. The goal is to keep the annual award winners in the dark until mid way through the introduction and it seemed like, for the most part, the goal was accomplished. But now that they all know, here is the list of Annual Award winners with links to the written presentations as they arrive.
Female Runner of the Year – Sheryl Rosen, presented by Nancy Laux
Male Runner of the Year – Mike Martinez, presented by Jay Wallace
Community Award – Fun Station, presented by Tom Perkins
Bill Lott Volunteer of the Year – Chris Sumner, presented by Gary Droze
Race Director of the Year – Herb Wills and Reid Vannoy (Palace Saloon) presented by Mary Jean Yon
Cleveland Caldwell Advancement of the Sport – Judy Alexander, presented by Bonnie Wright and Jane Johnson
Hall of Fame – Jane Johnson, presented by David Yon
Triathlete of the Year – Bruce Lynn, presented by Tony Guillen
Special Award – Above and Beyond – Lisa Unger, presented by Paul Kiger
