On a cool gray morning while many runners remained in bed Tim Unger and Lisa Whitworth led the Veterans Day Classic 10K winning the men and women’s titles in times of 36:05 and 44:25, respectively. Tim Unger led the whole way and won comfortably over a field that was dominated by runners on the north side of 40. Jerry Ongley won the masters trophy with a time of 38:09 while Jeanie Holland won it for the women. Lisa Whitworth also finished well ahead of the second place woman. The crowd was surprisingly small for this consistently high quality race.
