of the April 13, 2011 Board Meeting Hosted by Lisa Unger at Premier Health and Fitness CenterPresent: Jackie McDaniel, Elizabeth Stupi, Mary Jean Yon, Felton Wright, David Yon, Vicky Droze, Robert Macdonald, Fred Deckert, Lisa Unger, Charlie Yates, Mark Priddy, Dan Bulecza and Joe LaFave
Felton Wright called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Quorum was established.
The Board reviewed the March minutes. A motion was made, seconded and passed by unanimous vote to accept the minutes as presented.
New Business
Mark Priddy – – The 2011 Flash 12k/6k race had a net proceeds of $1,754. One half of the proceeds, $877 will be donated to the Chenoweth Fund. $209 was collected at the race as Chenoweth Fund specific donations, for a grand total of $1,086 donated to the Chenoweth Fund. The remaining $877.00 will go to GWTC.
Fred Deckert – Fred Deckert suggested the Club plan a social to honor and show appreciation to Bill Lott. A motion was made to plan this social to be held in the next few months with a budget not to exceed $200. A motion was made to approve the social and budget, seconded, and approved by unanimous vote.
Mary Jean Yon – Mary Jean presented an appreciation plaque to Dan Bulecza and Joe LaFave, EMT, of the FSU First Responder Unit. As previously reported, the FSU First Responder Unit was responsible for administering aide to the runner who had a heart attack at the Tallahassee Marathon/Half Marathon. The runner is recovering and doing well.

Membership Report –Mark Priddy
The Club has 1,331 members in 729 households. For the month, that is an increase of 61 members and 33 additional households.
Race Director Coordinator Report –Charlie Yates
Charlie continues to work with race directors of club and non-club races to schedule races for the remainder of the year.

Clothing Coordinator Report – Jackie McDaniel for Paula O’Neill
Paula sold $65.00 worth of clothing this month. She donated 9 shirts and a license plate to the Springtime training group for their raffle for their end of the class party. She met with Dave at Homestead and got clothing samples and has received input from various club members. Color options are limited. Once she chooses the shirts/colors/design, and confirms pricing, she will get with Judy Alexander and Jerry Chesnutt before ordering.
Equipment Report – Jackie McDaniel for Vicky Verano
Everything is going well with equipment rentals.

Chenoweth Fund Report – David Yon
Jessie Close, on behalf of Lincoln High School and Coach Perry Shaw, requested $1,000 to assist the track team with purchasing uniforms and assist with travel costs to upcoming events. The Chenoweth Committee approved the request for $1,000. A motion was made to approve this request, seconded, and approved by unanimous vote.
On behalf of the Florida Youth Running Association, Joe Mizereck requested $1,500 to assist with operating costs. The Chenoweth Committee does not believe that this request falls within the guidelines of their mission and referred the request to the Board. A motion was made to approve $1,000, seconded, and approved by unanimous vote.
Triathlon Report – Robert Macdonald
The Tri Club membership continues to grow. Last weekend was the Red Hills Triathlon and a large number of both local and out of town triathletes competed. A GP schedule has been developed and will be posted on their webpage. A large number of local athletes have registered to compete in the upcoming half ironman in Augusta, Georgia. The speaker for this month is Robin Gibson; a member of the Florida State University Athletic Department training staff. She will be speaking on IT band injuries.

Training Report –Jackie McDaniel for Beth Alexander and Chuck Davis
Currently there are 61 runners registered including coaches. The runners are excited about running the trails. Some of the runners are registering for Palace as a team. The schedule is posted on the web and updated weekly on the Facebook page.
Social Coordinator Report – Elizabeth Stupi
Last Saturday a Club social was held at Fermentation Lounge with approximately 25 people attending. Last month there was a bowling social that was well attended with approximately 35 people attending. A disc golf gathering is scheduled for May 14 at Tom Brown Park. The time will be determined and announced soon. Elizabeth asked for suggestions on the best ways to get the word out to club members that socials are scheduled so that everyone who wants to attend will know about them.
There being no further business to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and passed unanimously at 8:30 p.m.
