On a day that was a little warmer than marathoners dream about, but just right for spectators, Ondoro Osoro ran the fastest debut marathon in history, the fastest Chicago Marathon ever, and the third fastest marathon ever to win in 2:06:54 edging out prerace favorite Khalid Khannouchi who ran 2:07:19. Third fastest was the magic number for Joyce Chepchumba as she ran the third fastest time ever for a woman – 2:23:57. Colleen deReuck finished 2nd with a time of 2:27:04. The local stars were Ronnie Godwin who ran a terrific 2:49:55 for a PR and Dennis Silverman who lowered his PR by 6:00 minutes by running 3:47:20. Here are the rest of the area finishers:
