GULF WINDS TRACK CLUB Minutes

Present were Paul Hiers, Cynthia Christen, Brian Corbin, Tom Perkins, Bob Prentiss, Joe and Nadine Dexter, Charlie Yates, Sarah Doctor Williams, Tim Unger, Lisa Unger, Jerry Ongley, David Yon, Mike Sims, Judy Alexander, Lynn Powell, Rex Cleveland, Gary Kenney and Julie Clark.

Paul Hires called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. Minutes of the November meeting were distributed and accepted.

Paul Hiers requested an agenda item for next meeting: determine policy for GWTC web page links.

Tim Unger discussed proposal for GWTC Racing Team. A motion to fund up to $500 for shirts was approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Bob Prentiss presented and discussed the budget.

The triathletes are organizing a triatholon on St. Patricks day weekend at Lake Hall.

Membership Report: There are currently 972 members and 614 memberships.

Next year’s board members were introduced including Mike Sims, Lisa Unger and Charlie Yates. Charlie Yates will be the new race director/coordinator for 2001.

Springtime 10K will be on March 31st. We have 2 major sponsors HPSE and Premier Health & Fitness. Fun Station will repeat sponsorship of the 1 mile. All finishers will receive a medal. Tom Perkins is working on minor sponsorships and gathering volunteers.

Rex announced that the GWTC hotline is now functioning and he is responding to the calls.

Equipment report: $225 was turned in for equipment rental this month. Some of the “lost” equipment has been returned. The large clock has been repaired.

Sarah presented the budget for socials. She would like to have another silent auction next year. However, she could use volunteers and ideas.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:30 p.m.
