Gary Droze led almost 200 runners who turned out to take the GWTC 10 Mile Challenge Dec. 4. Finishing with a time of 56:24, Droze was followed by Tim Unger at 58:12 and Corey Cherr at 58:29. Jane Johnson led the women with a time of 1:03:53, followed by Kim Winn, 1:06:04, and Carrie Weyant, 1:09:04. The Achilles Track Club was represented by Philip Yon, 1:13:34 (wheelchair), and Lydia Burns.
Numerous runners who completed their first 10 Mile Challenge Saturday and others who scored PRs were awarded with ribbons. Race Director Dawn Brown did a great job of marshalling sufficient volunteers to make this a well-organized race, with a timely awards ceremony, plenty of refreshments, and a handsome t-shirt!
