Race Director Report – Jay Silvanima, Tallahassee Marathon
300 people are pre-registered so far, which is 50% greater than last year. Extra registrants are from out of state. Jay credits this to increased advertising. $2,000 of the 2007 marathon proceeds funded advertising for this year’s race. Jay is planning a pre-race dinner at TCC. Pete and Zika Rea of ZapFitness will be guest speakers. Coordination of traffic control and aid stations are going well. Jay has been in contact with Leon County Sheriff’s office and Leon County EMS and secured some giveaways from Mizuno.

No update on the returned 10-Mile Challenge T-shirts. Judy reported that her credit card has been credited for the amount of the purchase. She then presented a budget for the Springtime 10K. Tim has received inquiries to enter teams in races, but the fees have been too high. The Azalea Trail 10K is the same day as Springtime, so the club won’t be sending a team this year.
