Old Business
Michael Kennett – Last month, Michael discussed with the Board the possibility of starting a 10k race series. He agreed to research the idea and present his findings at a later date. This month, Michael returned and made a presentation to the Board with a draft outline of how the 10k race series will be structured. He suggested choosing 10k races that already exist and are within 50 miles of Tallahassee. Seven races will be chosen however a runner will only be required to run six races to receive an award at the end of the series. The series will run from October through May, with awards being given out after the final race. Awards will be based on participation, not performance. The Board approved a preliminary budget of $700. A motion was made to approve a budget up to $700 to support this effort, with the ability to increase funding if needed. The motion was seconded, and approved unanimously.
Jerry Chesnutt – At the May 2011 meeting, Jerry informed the Board that he was going to visit several Tallahassee banks and compare services provided by them. He reported to the Board this month that he has chosen Capital City Bank as the bank that he believes will provide the best all around service and location for GWTC banking needs. He anticipates that all Club accounts will be moved within the next six to eight months. There was a motion to approve Jerry’s request to relocate Club accounts to Capital City Bank, seconded, and approved unanimously.
