Wednesday, October 9th was the 4th meeting of the 2013 GWTC Beginning Running Class, and it marked the halfway point for this year’s class. As of 10/09/2013, the class had 88 registrants and 19 coaches. With GWTC membership now separate from the class registration fee, we had 13 people apply for membership.
We have received $1,356.75 in class fees and membership dues, and we have used $122.50 on copies from the club’s account at Target Copy.
The class participants are making great progress. We look forward to the completion of what will be the first 5k race for many of the run-walkers, and the first 5k completed without walking for many of our intermediate and advanced runners. This year’s goal races are the FSUCares 5k on 11/10/13 or the Trash Dash 5k on 11/16/13.
The Turkey Trot Training group also kicked off on Monday, October 7 and is being led by Jana & Chuck Davis and Keith Rowe. The focus of the group is preparing for the Turkey Trot and the group is running on Monday evenings in SouthWood.
