The Capital City Christian Cruisers Track and Field Club held
its Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at the Innovation Baptist Church.
Over 100 youth, parents and sponsors attended the banquet. Major sponsors were recognized
for their contribution and support to the club. Sponsors such as Gulf Winds Track Club,
Tallahassee Sports Council, Specialty Sportswear, Katz & Yon Law Firm, Attorneys David
Yon, Steve Uhlfelder and Bruce May, Florida State University, and many others were
recognized at the Banquet.
The CCCC Track Club had 80 youth to participate in the 2000
AAU State Championships which was held at Florida State University, June 23-25, 2000. The
CCCC Track Club was the local organizing club for the track meet. The Tallahassee
Trailblazers and the Big Bend Track Club were also assisted with the coordination of
concessions for the entire 3 days.
Of the 80 youth that participated in the State meet, 58 of
those youth qualified to participate in the AAU National Championships which was held the
Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex July 28-August 5, 2000. The youth received 35
medals at the State meet and 14 medals at the National meet which shattered the record
previously set by the CCCC Track Club last year. Listed below are the youth that qualified
for the National track meet:

Antonio Cromartie performed exceptionally by receiving 4
medals. All the youth performed exceptional and set personal records. The coaching staff
of the CCCC Track Club is very proud of the youth and their performance throughout the
entire season.
