Judy Alexander called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Quorum was established.
The Board reviewed the August minutes. A motion was made to approve the minutes with a correction in the Chenoweth Fund recording. The motion was seconded and passed.
New Business
Gary Kenney informed the Board that the middle school cross country championships will be held at the Apalachee Regional Park on September 28, 2011. He needs volunteers and has asked for anyone interested to contact him at gkenney5k@aol.com.
Jeff Nielsen presented a proposed budget to the Board for the upcoming Prefontaine 5k. There was a motion to approve the budget, seconded, and approved as presented.
Mark Priddy presented the proposed 2012 Grand Prix Race Schedule to the Board. A motion was made to approve the request, seconded, and approved as presented.
Mary Jean Yon presented the preliminary election slate for 2012 officers to the Board. The Committee on Nominations will continue to accept names of interested candidates until October 6.
David Yon presented a proposed budget for the 2011 GWTC Turkey Trot. A motion was made to approve the budget as presented, seconded, and approved.
Felton Wright reported that the Breakfast on the Track one mile race netted $1,029.90. As previously approved by the Board, one half of the proceeds, $514.95 will go to the Maclay Track Boosters. The other half will go to the Club.
Treasurer’s Report – Jerry Chesnutt
There is $11,946 in the Club’s checking account and $77,916 in a certificate of deposit. The Chenoweth fund has $12,560.
Membership Report –Mark Priddy
The Club has 1,581 members in 863 households. For the month, that is an increase of 42 members and 23 additional households.

Clothing Coordinator Report – Jackie McDaniel for Paula O’Neill
Paula sold $408 in clothing and merchandise sales this month, with most of it being sold at the Breakfast on the Track event. She will be at the beginning running class at FSU on September 21 to sell to new runners.

Triathlon Report – Kathy McDaris
Kathy McDaris asked if the ballots for the Tri Club election of officers could be mailed when the GWTC ballots are mailed and by the same procedure. After some discussion among board members, it was determined that could work. Tri Club ballots will be mailed in separate envelopes to Tri Club members only. Kathy will coordinate with the Committee on Nominations to work out the details.
Lecture Series Report – Nancy Stedman
Nancy reminded everyone that Marianna Tutwiler, co-owner, Namaste Yoga, will be at Thomasville Road Baptist Church (upstairs in the rear building) giving a talk and demonstration on what yoga can do for athletes. Program starts at 7:30 p.m. on September 23.
Training Report – Judy Alexander for Robin Borschel and T. J. Cutchins
Judy reminded everyone that the first meeting of the Beginning Running Class is Wednesday, September 21st.
Social Coordinator Report – Elizabeth Stupi
The August social was held on August 21 at Maclay Gardens. Attendance was low due to bad weather; however Elizabeth wanted to recognize Bill Lott, Vince Molosky, and Keith Gates for all the work they put into grilling the food. The next social is October 22, with more details to be announced at a later date.
Prior to the end of the meeting, David Yon reported that the committee is at work and moving forward with their research on the possible purchase of a RFID “Chip” timing system for the Club.
There being no further business to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and passed unanimously at 8:28 p.m.
